I have 2 sets of plans at the office. I will email them to you tomorrow. One set is called a "weekend bench". It is basically built out of 2x4's and some type of top.

I built 2 of these, one big one that uses a solid core door as a top. Very nice, and very heavy. And a second assembly table which is a variation on the theme which is taller and has a butcher block top.

Both are easy to build and rock solid.

Frank,

Have you checked out "The Workbench Book" by Scott Landis? Lot's of great stuff in there, including plans.

I recently built a bench. It's not a luthier-specific bench, since I will use it for other woodworking projects as well. So I built a traditional woodworking bench, and I plan to build a series of luthier "add-ons" that will attach to the bench via vices and dogholes.

The add-ons are still in the "design phase." But I love the bench. Here's a pic:

Hi Brock,

If you don't mind, could you e-mail me the plans also? We arrive at our new house in Indiana on Monday and that is one of the first projects I need to get on.

Thanks!

John

Frank... send me your email address... it isn't in your profile.

John... your files are on their way... there are 3 mails, each has a file a couple of Mb in it. I don't know if Yahoo can take files that big or not.
